Samuel L. Jackson 'Trying to Figure Out' Why Nick Fury Hasn't Been in a Black Panther Movie

Must read

Samuel L. Jackson has expressed his desire for Nick Fury to be in "every Marvel movie," especially Black Panther.

The veteran MCU actor, who has played Nick Fury in the MCU since 2008's Iron Man, told Entertainment Tonight that Black Panther is the Marvel franchise he would like Nick Fury to appear in next, but unfortunately he is still waiting for an invite to the world of Wakanda.

"It's kind of up and down for me in an interesting sort of way," Jackson said of his MCU journey. "If I had it my way, I would've been in every Marvel movie 'cause I mean he is Nick Fury, he knows everything that's going on. I'm still trying to figure out why I've never been to Wakanda."

He added, "They didn't ask me to go, but I'm still trying to get there. I need a ticket."

While Marvel is moving away from massive, multi-movie deals, Jackson once signed a nine-movie contract with the studio that saw his character Nick Fury become an integral part of the MCU. He is still upset about being left out of some entries such as Captain America: Civil War, however.

The last we saw of Nick Fury was in Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019, but he'll be back on our screens for Secret Invasion. The Disney+ series picks up where Fury left off, with the former head of S.H.I.E.L.D. dealing with an invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls.

Secret Invasion, which premieres on June 21, is releasing at an interesting time for the MCU, as reports have suggested this series and Loki Season 2 may be Disney+'s only "sure bets" for 2023. This would be a big change as we got five MCU shows in 2021 and three in 2022.
