LG C3 Series OLED TVs Are Now Available

Must read

The LG C-series has long been IGN’s pick for the best TV for gaming. Between the gorgeous OLED screen, HDMI 2.1a ports, and support for 120Hz refresh rate, it has everything you need to get the most out of your PS5, Xbox Series X, or even gaming PC. If you're in the market for a new TV, you'll be pleased to hear that the 2023 model, the LG OLED evo C3 TVs, are now available to purchase. And if you don't want to spend quite that much money, you can save a bunch on last year's LG C2 series. Let's dive in.

LG C3-Series OLED TVs

So what’s new in the C3s? It’s a relatively minor upgrade from the C2, but you’re probably not upgrading from a C2, are you? The main improvements here are a new sixth-gen processor that ought to deliver better upscaling, enhanced tone mapping, and improved HDR. The 55-inch-and-up models get a Brightness Booster upgrade, so they’ll look even brighter than previous models.

Another new feature is multi-view, which lets you view content from two different HDMI inputs simultaneously. That way, you can play PS5 while your roommate watches basketball. And thanks to the HDMI 2.1a ports, you get Quick Media Switching, which makes switching inputs instantaneous, eliminating that pesky black screen in between.

Like I said, these aren’t revolutionary new features. But LG has done enough iterative improvements each year that the full feature set will likely be a big upgrade over whatever TV you’re replacing. Again, you don’t get to be IGN’s pick for best TV for gaming by being a slouch.

LG C2 Series Is on Sale

On the other hand, if you want a TV that’s almost as good as this one, you can get last year’s model, the LG C2 OLED, on sale right now. If the new features on the C3 don’t sound like they’re worth the hundreds of dollars difference, you'll save a ton of money by picking up a C2 instead. It’s almost as good.

I have an LG CX, the model from a few years ago, and it still looks fantastic whether I’m gaming, watching 4K UHD Blu-rays, streaming, or even watching over-the-air content. You really can't go wrong with LG's C-series.
