Final Fantasy XVI is coming to PS5 on June 22, which is coming right up. It will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive for at least six months, after which it may come to PC and/or Xbox — but Square Enix has made no announcement to that effect so far. FF16 will be available in several editions, including a collector's edition; you can see the pricing and contents of each below. Without further ado, my fellow RPG fans, let’s get to it.
Final Fantasy XVI Standard Edition
- Get it at Amazon – $69.99
- Get it at Best Buy – $69.99 (free steelbook case)
- Get it at GameStop – $69.99 (free Realms of Valisthea patches)
- Get it at Walmart – $69.99
- Get it at PS Store (digital) – $69.99
At most retailers, the standard edition of Final Fantasy XVI just comes with the game itself, plus the preorder bonus (see below). But if you preorder from Best Buy, you’ll also get an exclusive steelbook case for free along with it.
Final Fantasy XVI Deluxe Edition
- Get it at Amazon – $99.99
- Get it at Best Buy – $99.99
- Get it at GameStop – $99.99
- Get it at Walmart – $99.99
The deluxe edition costs $30 more than the standard one, but it comes with some physical items in addition to the game and preorder bonus:
- Cloth world map of Valisthea
- Special Clive Rosfield steelbook case
Best Buy is also giving away its exclusive steelbook case (different from the deluxe edition case) with purchase. So you’ll get two steelbook cases if you buy it there.
Final Fantasy XVI Collector's Edition
- See it at Square Enix Store – $349.99
The collector's edition is available exclusively on the Square Enix Store. It comes with the following items:
- Ifrit statue
- Set of 8 pins
- Cloth world map of Valisthea
- Special Clive Rosfield steelbook case
- Blood Sword (digital item)
Final Fantasy XVI Digital Deluxe Edition
- Get it at PS Store – $89.99
The digital deluxe edition doesn’t come with any physical items, obviously, but in addition to the preorder bonus, it includes the following digital extras:
- Digital mini art book
- Digital mini soundtrack
Final Fantasy XVI Preorder Bonus
Preorder Final Fantasy 16 from any retailer, and you’ll receive the following digital items at no extra charge:
- Gil Boost Accessory: Cait Sith Charm
- Bonus Weapon: Braveheart
If you preorder a digital copy of either edition on the PlayStation Store, you’ll also receive the in-game item Scholar’s Spectacles.
A couple of retailers have their own exclusive bonuses as well:
- GameStop – limited-edition The Realms of Valisthea Patches
- Best Buy – standard | deluxe – exclusive steelbook case (see it here)
Final Fantasy XVI Trailers
What Is Final Fantasy XVI?
This installment in the long-running series harkens back to the franchise’s beginnings by putting crystals at the center of the story line. In the world of Valisthea, crystals power the magic. As magic fades from the world, the kingdoms only intensify their battle for magical power. This leads the game’s protagonist Clive Rosfield to a revelation that he must destroy the crystals altogether. You can read more about it in our exclusive Final Fantasy XVI interview with the game’s director, or check out our Final Fantasy XVI hands-on preview.
