Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Swings Past Into the Spider-Verse's Box Office Run in Just 12 Days

Must read

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is continuing its impressive run in theaters and has already swung past Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse's entire box office run in just 12 days.

As reported by Comscore, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse's global earnings have surpassed $390 million, meaning it has taken the crown from the original Spider-Verse film that brought in $377 million during its entire box office run.

While it may be a bit of a stretch, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse now has its sights on The Amazing Spider-Man 2's $708.9 million global run. For those unaware, Spider-Man: No Way Home is the current #1 Spidey film as it brought in a staggering $1.91 billion worldwide.

Unfortunately, it wasn't a total win of a weekend as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse couldn't secure a second weekend box office victory as Transformers: Rise of the Beasts came in with a strong $60.5 million domestic opening and $170.5 million global opening to take that honor. Across the Spider-Verse put up a good fight, however, as it took in $55.42 million in North America.

In our Transformers: Rise of the Beasts review, we said it "proves that the Transformers franchise is accelerating in the right direction, delivering solid Autobots action and a solid voice cast behind the infamous robots in disguise."

The Little Mermaid placed third in its third weekend in theaters with a domestic haul of $22.79 million. The Little Mermaid's North American total now stands at $228.81 million.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 took fourth place with domestic earnings of $7.02 million, and The Boogeyman rounded out the top five with domestic box office ticket sales reaching $6.91 million.
