John Wick 5 has been announced during Lionsgate's earnings call with the current plan to film back-to-back with John Wick 4 starting early 2021.Lionsgate CEO John Feltheimer says both films are in the scripting stage and they hope to have John Wick 4 ready for Memorial Day weekend in 2022, according to Deadline.
“We’re also busy preparing scripts for the next two installments of our John Wick action franchise, with John Wick 4 slated to hit theaters Memorial Day weekend 2022," Feltheimer said on the earnings call. "We hope to shoot both John Wick 4 and 5 back-to-back when Keanu becomes available early next year.”
Keanu Reeves was filming the fourth Matrix movie in Germany when production was shut down in March although reports say that the actors are now back to filming.
The John Wick universe continues to grow larger with The Continental TV series that's still on the way.
